CHRISTIAN M. ATHENS, DO

Christian M. Athens, DO is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic trauma and adult joint reconstruction. Dr. Athens completed advanced fellowship training at the renowned Hennepin County Medical Center, where he developed expertise in the treatment of complex fractures, post-traumatic conditions, hip and knee arthritis, and primary and revision joint replacement surgery.

A graduate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Athens completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Aultman Hospital in Canton, Ohio. His training encompasses the full spectrum of musculoskeletal care, with particular focus on fracture management, trauma reconstruction, and hip and knee arthroplasty.

In addition to his clinical training, Dr. Athens has an extensive academic background with multiple peer-reviewed publications and national presentations in orthopedic surgery. He remains committed to evidence-based care and utilizes the latest surgical techniques and technologies to help patients restore mobility, reduce pain, and return to the activities they enjoy.

Known for his approachable demeanor and patient-centered philosophy, Dr. Athens believes in developing individualized treatment plans that align with each patient's goals and lifestyle. Whether caring for patients after traumatic injuries or helping them overcome debilitating joint pain, he is dedicated to delivering exceptional orthopedic care with compassion and precision.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Athens enjoys boating, scuba diving, fishing, hunting, backpacking, snowboarding, and ice hockey.
